Meet our Leadership Team

  • A man with a beard and tattooed right arm stands outdoors in front of green foliage, wearing a medieval-inspired costume with a blue and yellow checkered pattern, a black shirt, and a matching hat.

    Tyler

    Coach

    He/Him

Our coach, Tyler Schwartz, has been battling in buhurt for 12 years and has fought on Team USA at the Buhurt International World Championship. He works in CAD, and outside of fighting, he enjoys spending time with his wife and dog.

  • A smiling man with glasses, a beard, and a holiday sweater with festive patterns and Disney characters, standing with crossed arms in front of a sparkly holiday-themed background.

    Caleb

    Omaha Hell Hounds Captain

    He/Him

The Omaha Hell Hounds team captain, Caleb, also known as Ping Pong, is the coolest guy in the list. When he doesn’t have a sword or ping pong paddle in hand, he loves history, philosophy, and long walks on the beach.

Meet our Board

  • A man dressed as a medieval knight, wearing armor and a green and gold robe, standing indoors with chairs and tables around him, and a netted barrier in the background.

    Matt

    President

    He/Him

Matthew Bles is the president of the Omaha Hell Hounds. When he is not practicing or fighting, he works as an elementary school librarian. His first melee was Carolina Carnage, where he fought on the left rail. His preferred duel style is sword and shield, and his preferred melee weapon is a hand axe because he enjoys grappling.

  • A woman with brown hair tied in a bun, smiling and making a peace sign with her hand, while kneeling on one knee in a gym. She is wearing a black sleeveless top, black pants, and white sneakers. She is standing in front of a yellow wall with a red banner that reads 'OMAHA HELL HOUNDS' and logos of a black hound's head. To her left are orange buckets labeled with The Home Depot logo and a wooden workbench. To her right, there is a blue padded mat and a doorway.

    Avery

    Event Coordinator

    She/They

Avery is our event coordinator and has been fighting in buhurt for four years. When they aren’t in the list they work in healthcare as a pharmacy technician. They love music, movies, and their cats, Circe and The Nameless One.

  • Portrait of a man in medieval-style armor holding a battle axe

    Brandon

    Treasurer

    He/Him

Brandon is our team's treasurer and numbers man. The only thing Brandon loves more than accounting is medieval combat. When he isn’t crunching numbers, he’s crunching bones in the buhurt list.

  • A man in a gray t-shirt and glasses stands beside a large light-colored dog on a sidewalk in a park with trees and a skate park in the background.

    Aaron

    Secretary

    He/Him

As secretary, Aaron is constantly pondering which is mightier: the pen or the sword? Either way, he’s a fierce fighter in the list and a mean-lean spreadsheet-making machine. When he isn’t battling in melee or duels, he is enjoying time with his wife and their majestic borzois.

  • Person wearing medieval armor and a red hood, holding a wooden sword above their head, in an indoor setting with chairs, tables, and equipment visible in the background.

    Gabby

    Marketing Manager

    She/Her

Gabby is the Marketing Manager for the Omaha Hell Hounds. A Marketing Consultant for local businesses by day, she studies the blade by night. She loves sewing, crafts, SCUBA diving, and beating up her friends with swords and axes. She wants to encourage more women to join buhurt and continue to build an awesome community of fighters.
